How we started
Hello!!! My name is Bianca and I'm the owner of this little slice of sweet heaven. I'm the one with the UNIQUE voice (thanks to a hard fight won against laryngeal cancer in my teens) that answers the phone, usually yells out "hello" from the kitchen when you enter, asks about your family, has a pen OR pencil (usually both and sometimes more than one each but STILL manages to always be looking for something to write with) stuck in my hair, and doles out hugs on an as needed basis.
After graduating college I decided that maybe I had chosen the wrong career path. So I did what any 23 year old would do, I did some "soul searching"and decided that I wanted to learn how to cook. Soon I was enrolled in Culinary School and working towards my dreams of owning a quaint little bistro. Then once again I realized that sauteing, roasting and filleting items all day and/or night wasn't my true passion. so at the ripe old age of 24 I thought back to my time in school where I was happiest and it was in Fundamentals of Baking 1. AHAA I had found it!!!! But since I was trained in savory, I needed to learn more about the magical science called "baking". Thus began my quest of learning everything I could about desserts and cake decorating. Upon graduation I was hired as a Pastry Chef at a local restaurant and set about baking desserts on the side. After seven years in the restaurant business, it was time to branch out on my own and Who Doesn't Like Cake? was born.
Fast forward seven and a half years and WDLC? is still going strong, albeit I have a few more gray hairs, bags under the eyes, and worsening carpal tunnel. We've come to consider our growing client list as family and we love baking custom desserts from scratch for them. In fact, we couldn't think of anything else we'd rather be doing. I like to say we do it just like you would if you only had the time to bake, and I think our customers would agree.
So come on in and get a cupcake, dessert, or much needed hug and join our ever growing family. Remember to eat dessert FIRST and always ask yourself, Who Doesn't Like Cake?
